Wave's story _____

An Explorer & Storyteller,
Not an Influencer

I didn't set out to explore global healthcare. It started with a root canal gone wrong.

After losing that tooth, and then another, I was told I needed dental implants. The specialist I was referred to quoted me $15,000 CAD. My jaw dropped and it felt like highway robbery.

While on vacation in Mexico, I decided to see what the same treatment would cost there. I booked a consultation and was blown away. The technology, customer service, and clinic exceeded my expectations—and the treatment was about 70% less.

That experience made me start asking a bigger question:What other incredible healthcare options exist around the world that we simply don't know about?

It wasn't my only frustration with healthcare. Like many Canadians, I'd experienced long wait times, difficulty finding a family doctor, concerns being dismissed, and a system where preventive care often felt like an afterthought, but once I started looking outside the system I knew, I discovered world-class healthcare, longevity treatments, wellness experiences, and emerging technologies around the world.

The problem wasn't that these options didn't exist. I didn't know who to trust.

Finding that first dentist in Mexico was overwhelming. I didn't even know dental tourism was a thing, and when I started researching, I couldn't find the kind of information I actually wanted—not sponsored reviews or generic wellness advice, but honest accounts from someone who had actually been there.
What did it cost? What was the experience really like? What surprised them? What are the risks? And would they actually recommend it?

So I started documenting my own journey.

With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a background in digital media, I now travel the world exploring healthcare firsthand. I've lived in Mexico, documented my own cosmetic and wellness procedures, and visited clinics and longevity centers to understand how healthcare is evolving around the world.I'm naturally skeptical, and I consider that one of my greatest strengths.

Every experience starts with questions: Is it worth it? Who is this actually for? What does it really cost? What are the risks? Would I recommend it to someone I love?

I document experiences as they happen—including what exceeded expectations, what surprised me, and what I'd do differently. IMy goal is to help people make informed decisions, not convince them to book treatment.

How do you film your experiences?

As naturally as possible. Most of what you see is documented in real time. I don't stop procedures to recreate moments or ask clinicians to repeat something for a better shot. I approach every experience with a photojournalist's mindset—capturing what actually happened rather than creating an Instagram-perfect version of it.Healthcare is already emotional and vulnerable. I believe it deserves to be documented honestly.

Are your experiences sponsored?

Some are, many aren't. If a clinic or brand sponsors travel or treatment, it is always disclosed. Sponsorship never guarantees positive coverage or editorial approval.
